Serving local growers since 1937.

Our Mission

To provide everything a Professional Grower needs, at an affordable price and convenient location, while creating a superior customer experience through our agronomic support and resources.

Our Vision

To be known as the premier agricultural supplier in the Okanagan Valley and surrounding district and to supply what the grower needs, when they need it, to support quality crops and a sustainable farming industry.

Our History

Growers Supply Co. has been serving local growers in the Okanagan for over 83 years. This is how it all began:

May 31, 1937

The first storefront and warehouse opened in downtown Kelowna on the corner of Ellis Street and Haynes Avenue and supplied feed, spray, fertilizer, flour and orchard supplies.

Early 1960s

A devastating packinghouse fire allowed Growers Supply Co. to move to a new building at 421 Cawston Ave. Here, the company expanded into a major hardware, farm and garden supply store and even operated a gas station.

These properties were eventually purchased by the City of Kelowna. The store is now known as the Rotary Center of the Arts and the gas station is now part of the parking lot for Prospera Place.

1982

Growers Supply Co. took over the operation of the Lake Area Summerland and Penticton Co-Op’s spray sheds.

1989

The operations combined together at the Penticton Co-op location on Dawson Ave.

Late 1980s

The company began to outgrow the Cawston Avenue location.

1991

The company moved to a more industrial location on Acland Road to concentrate on the commercial and wholesale trade. The Acland Road location was one of the first large certified Agrichemical Warehousing Standards Association (AWSA) warehouses in Western Canada.

2001

To expand the product selection in Penticton, the company purchased a larger facility on Okanagan Avenue East. Growers Supply Co. moved in 2015 to a brand new store built on 108-272 Dawson Ave, Penticton.

2005

The Okanagan Tree Fruit Cooperative (OTFC) was created with the BC Fruit Packers (BCFP) and OK North Cooperatives joining forces.

Growers Supply Co. took over the responsibility of supplying crop inputs to those growers. Sunfresh Cooperative joined in 2006.

2008

The Okanagan Similkameen Cooperative (OSC) had joined the OTFC.

2009

Growers Supply Co. quickly determined that the packing house warehouse would need to be moved away from production and therefore purchased their South Valley Sales Division. This resulted from negotiations with Terralink.

This purchase resulted in the South Valley Sales Oliver and Keremeos outlets’ taking over the responsibilities of the three packinghouse spray sheds in their respective locations.

This purchase allowed Growers Supply Co. to offer more products to all growers.

2011

Expansion of the Vernon operations and the closure of the Winfield location 2016: A new store front and receiving area was added to the Vernon location. Growers Supply Co. also moved to a freshly built store on the other side of the property in Keremeos.

2016

2016 Brought tremendous growth and change to Growers Supply Co. including an updated logo and the development of a corporate head office located at 3335 Sexsmith Rd. Kelowna.

Today

Growers Supply Co continues to service our grower and dealer base in the BC Interior, Cariboo and Kootenay Regions of British Columbia, through our locations in Kelowna, Vernon, Creston, Penticton, and Oliver.
